Recently I tried to update my ubuntu 16.10 to 17.10. Then I did a huge mistake of editing the 'sources.list' file; I replaced yakketty to artful and updated the system. Everything went very well until I rebooted my computer. Now it is stuck on loading and not going any further. I'll be real grateful if someone could fix this problem for me. Thank you guys!

What do you mean by "stuck on loading"? Please describe clearly exactly what you see and hear before and during the 'stuck' part. A lot of things happen during boot, and it helps to narrow down which part of the boot cycle has the problem. Since dist-upgrades from 16.10 to 17.10 are not supported, be prepared to back up your data and reinstall.
