I am behind proxy at my work and I'm trying to setup it's behavior by setting environment variables in /etc/environment
.
So far I've added lines:
http_proxy="http://my.username:mypass12345@proxyaddress:8080/"
https_proxy="http://my.username:mypass12345@proxyaddress:8080/"
no_proxy="address.list, separated.by, commas"
But still I have certain issues.
When I open Firefox it still requires me to provide authentication data for
moz-proxy://proxyaddress:8080/
Somehow it takes only address and port, but totally ignores authentication data.
Skype and Software center don't work at all, because, as I believe, they don't support proxy authentication at runtime like Firefox does.
I understand that FF takes proxy address exactly from provided env. variables and not elsewhere, because before /etc/environment
have been modified FF didn't even try to prompt for authentication.
