I'm using a gigabyte p55w v6 laptop, and it has a i7-6700hq CPU and NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphics card, with 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD. I recently installed Ubuntu in my hard drive, while Windows is installed at the SSD.
At first, the fan speed was too low, so I did those two things:

  1. Install TLP

  2. add acpi_osi=!Windows 2012(I don't remember if this is exactly what I did; I did it a few days ago, and I can't remember clearly, sorry..) to grub

  3. install lm-sensors and fancontrol->this didn't work because lm-sensors couldn't detect the fans in my laptop

Well, after that, my laptop seems to be a lot cooler, but it is still too hot. When I check it with xsensors, the cpu temperature is about 60 degrees celcius, and the gpu temperature is about 55.even though it's not so low, it isn't too hot either; there must be something else causing the heat. I think the hard drive is getting to hot, maybe? Can someone help me on this?
P.S. English is not my mother language, so please excuse me if my sentences were hard to understand.
P.S.2 If you know how to detect fans in a gigabyte laptop please let me know, since I'd like to keep the cpu temperature under 60.
