Long time reader, first time asker.

I upgraded my 2015 ThinkPad Yoga from 16.04 to 17.10 and have had issues with my trackpad ever since. Currently the trackpad is not working, but previously it would not recognize two-finger scroll. I could regain two-finger scroll each time I woke up the computer with sudo modprobe -r psmouse && sudo modprobe psmouse. That worked for a day and, as I said, it is not working at all now.

Synaptics is installed, so that does not seem to be the issue. Here is the output just for kicks:
:~$ sudo apt install xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree

Reading state information... Done
xserver-xorg-input-synaptics is already the newest version (1.9.0-1ubuntu1).
