Running Windows 10. Installed VirtualBox. Downloaded Ubuntu but it come as a zip file. When I try to run it from VirtualBox I get a fatal error message that no bootable medium was found. I wonder if itâÂÂs because IâÂÂm pointing VirtualBox to a zip file and not an iso file. But I canâÂÂt seem to locate an iso file of Ubuntu because everything seems to be a zip file. Any directions would be appreciated.

There is an ISO for 16.04 & 18.04 on the AskUbuntu web-site. Or google "ISO download ubuntu" Watch out 18.04 has a few issues with VirtualBox. The latest 5.x.x version of VM seems okay.

It does not come as a Zip file. It comes as an ISO image: releases.ubuntu.com/18.04.1.

Where were you downloading Ubuntu from? A ZIP file is not the correct download, and none of the official Ubuntu downloads are ZIPS - they're all ISOs or torrent files which pull in an ISO.
