There is no option for "Choose a device for sound output. But when I was with windows this laptop had amazing sound. Ever since I switched to linux everything has been terrible. Graphics and audio didn't work in 16.04, now in 18.04 the graphics work but absolutely no audio, not a flicker. I don't understand why linux is so bad for me but it works fine for others, what the hell did I do to this laptop?

  • Looks like pulseaudio is not running. you can start pulseaudio with pulseaudio --start, try that and see if it helps.

  • ok... weird thing going on. I did it, and yes, it had two options in output, but when I chose one of them for some reason my internet decided to go on a rampage and kicked me off, then wouldn't let me back on. I restarted and my internet was fine, but no options in output, and when I did pulseaudio --start it said
