18.04 no output in settings

There is no option for "Choose a device for sound output. But when I was with windows this laptop had amazing sound. Ever since I switched to linux everything has been terrible. Graphics and audio didn't work in 16.04, now in 18.04 the graphics work but absolutely no audio, not a flicker. I don't understand why linux is so bad for me but it works fine for others, what the hell did I do to this laptop?



Details: Memory-3.8 Gib Processor-Intel® Atom™ x5-Z8350 CPU @ 1.44GHz × 4
Graphics-Intel® HD Graphics (Cherrytrail) GNOME- 3.28.1 OS Type-64bit Disk-61.3Gib

  • Looks like pulseaudio is not running. you can start pulseaudio with pulseaudio --start, try that and see if it helps.

I did it, and yes, it had two options in output, but when I chose one of them for some reason my internet decided to go on a rampage and kicked me off, then wouldn't let me back on. I restarted and my internet was fine, but no options in output, and when I did pulseaudio --start it said
