I have managed to brick my laptop running ubuntu 17.10(?).
I was running apt-get update
or apt-get upgrade
but while the terminal was doing it's thing my laptop froze so I rebooted it.
When I boot my laptop, I am faced by this screen
And when I do Control + D as prompted, I see the lubuntu loading screen for a second and am then faced with this screen
My guess is that I have to redo the apt-get update
or apt-get upgrade
command whilst in this recovery mode, however I am not connected to my network as when I issue the command ping 8.8.8.8
I am returned with "connect: Network is unreachable".
If anyone could tell me how to connect to my network in recovery mode so I can run apt-get update
and apt-get upgrade
from recovery mode, that would be great. If someone could tell me exactly what I need to do in order to access my laptop again that would be even better!
Thanks.
